2025. 100 W. Walnut

100 West Walnut Street (images: 1905 photo with 100 W. Walnut's distinctive tower visible on the left, 1903 photo of the same corner, and 1910 photo of Main St. looking north with 100 W. Walnut's tower seen to the rear) At the northwest corner of Main and Walnut streets stands a towered building that was the original home of Howard National Bank. One of Kokomo’s earliest; it lasted about 50 years until its merger with Citizens Bank. The structure underwent some renovation in the 1980s, in a fairly successful attempt to return it to its original appearance. Today it serves as an office for a law firm. There is a compound arch on the left façade and heavy rough cut stones highlight its levels; the designs are string courses. Around the doors are beautiful limestone arches. Notable Design: Romanesque Revival Year Built: 1891
