200 North Union Street - Kokomo YMCA
(images circa 1911)
Designed by Kokomo architect R.L. Young in the Neoclassical style and
constructed at a cost of $92,574, this building has been familiar to Kokomo citizens since it opened in 1911. The YMCA later purchased and razed an old brick house to the east to make way for a swimming pool and gymnasium. The limestone features on this building, such as the door surrounds, water table, and cornice are of particular interest architecturally.
